Skill based education in Emerging Technologies

Skill based education in Emerging Technologies a must in the current Era -Minister Kadakampally Surendran.

Hon’ble Minister for Devaswom, Cooperation and Tourism,Shri Kadakampally Surendran opined that Vocational education in Emerging Technologies is highly inevitable in the current era for securing employment in India and Over-
seas.

While speaking on the opening ceremony of Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) Thiruvananthapuram center,the minister said that the technologies in the media & Entertainment sector is rapidly changing with visualization technologies such as animation, visual eects, multimedia, gaming and Augmented reality & virtual reality (AR & VR).

The Chroma Studio in the center was inaugurated by former Assembly Speaker Shri M Vijayakumar.
Prof Dr Sasikumaran,MAAC Trivandrum Centre Managing Director delivered the welcome speech.

Prof V K Damodaran,Former Director,Energy Management Centre & Former Secretary to Government (ex ocio) presided the meeting. Kerala Media Academy chairman R.S.Babu inaugurated the Technical Seminar. Noorul Islam University Pro Chancellor Faizal Khan, Symphony TV MD V. Krishnakumar, Vakkom Moulavi foundation Trust chairman A Suhair and Fr Geevarghese Erakathu delivered felicitation speech.

Shri Amit Dang, Shri Prem Raja and Shri. Steve Simon Mathews represented the MAAC,Mumbai Head Oce.

Followed by the inauguration, MAAC Trivandrum Faculty Head, Sri Amrithraj conducted a seminar on “Visualization Technology and Job Opportunities”.

Prof. Dr. Sasikumaran S has 37 + years of Experience in Teaching,Training & Research in computer science in India & Abroad. He has  received BSc (Engg) & MSc(Engg) degrees in Electrical Engineering from Kerala University and PhD in Computer Science (Computer Graphics) from University of Roorkee ,India ( currently IIT,Roorkee). He has served in kerala (India) for 20 years at NIT/CUSAT/IMG. He has proposed the first BTech degree in IT and started the course at CUSAT in 1993. Later he has served with Multimedia university(Malaysia),Philadelphia university(Jordan) & King Khalid university (Saudi Arabia). As professor of computer applications at IMG, Trivandrum, he has involved in the computer training of large number of Government employees and officers. He has also Served as Regional Moderator of National Computing Centre (NCC),UK to oversee the quality of their 1 year Diploma(IT) training program conducted through accredited institutions (APTECH) in India for 2 years. Currently he is also serving as Chairman & Managing Director, Academic Accreditation and HRD Associates Private Limited (AACHA),(www.aachaglobal.com), a Consulting Company for Accreditation of Engineering/professional courses(India) & ABET(USA)
He is a Senior member of IEEE, Member of ACM, Life Member of Computer Society of India (CSl),Indian society for Technical Education(ISTE) & Energy Conservation Society(ECS) and Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India).
